When It Started

The scheme was introduced as part of the state budget and subsequent Government Resolution (GR) issued in mid-2024 to provide free electricity to farmers using agricultural pumps up to 7.5 horsepower (HP) capacity. The decision to launch this free electricity scheme came in response to the rising costs of cultivating crops and growing concerns about farmers’ financial stability.
